What I'm doing now

Last updated: August 2026

I live in Sant Pere de Vilamajor, at the foot of Montseny.

I'm a software engineer and I currently work at a product company in the health sector.

My priorities and project status

Since I last updated this page I've been through three jobs. The first, a leading product company in the mechanical sector, let me go during my probation period after four months, with no explanation whatsoever. The second, a huge consultancy, with a chaotic client and a salary below what the work was worth. The third is where I am now: a product company in the health sector, and this is where I'm staying.

I no longer maintain this site on my own. Three GitHub Actions propose improvements and detect bugs every Monday, and I decide what gets in. Five months in: 169 proposals, 55 approved and 53 merged pull requests. I've just published a three-part series explaining how it all works.

A blown SSD forced me to rethink the home server: I've ditched Proxmox and now run Home Assistant bare metal. I'm learning a lot down that path, often the hard way.

Sven is still up to his usual tricks, which is exactly what we ask of him.

What excites me

In a couple of days I'm going to see the total solar eclipse live. I haven't thought about much else for weeks.

An Australian friend is coming to visit, and we're already starting to plan a trip for next year.

I'm continuing with the Stormlight Archive saga.

The bonsai trees are past pruning and repotting season; now comes the least glamorous and most important part: watering, shade and patience until the heat passes.

This is my "now" page inspired by the now page movement.
